Awesome product.
Not to hard to install as there are a couple of YouTube videos on it.
So much tidier than stock leather boot.

Advantages: Appearance is top notch.
Ease of installation.

Disadvantages: No instructions included.

I never liked the leather boot and it was always dirty and a pain to clean. I bought one of these and had it painted and it loogs great and is very easy to keep clean. It also provides a place to set stuff.

This is yet another very unique item from Cravenspeed. The shift gate plate is a shift boot replacement for all Manual transmission MINI's. It actually replaces the plastic trim ring around the base of the shift boot (and the shift boot itself) as well and lends a technical, race-spec look to the interior. Simple open area in the center allows the stock shift or just about any aftermarket short shift kit to work without interference. Installs in minutes. Black anodized finish clear anodized aluminum. Requires removal of the stock center console to install which takes about 30-40 minutes max.

This is a review of the M12 stud conversion kit for the R53 MINI Cooper S. This is the second stud kit that I have installed. The first set was of much lessor quality and was totally worn out within six years of auto-x, track days and winter tire change-over.

These new studs appear to be far superior and slightly longer. I also like the unthreaded portion that allows lining up the nut to help prevent cross threading.

I do have one question; Do you recommend any using any lubrication on the threads of the studs?

Installed short shifter kit with no problems except kit did not come with 'o' ring for shifter shaft. Factory 'o' ring was too larger off of OEM shift lever. I would also recommend some good out door adhesive to reinstall dust cover on shift box, because some of the locking tabs may break off when removing. And with this short shifter kit there is no need to modify shifter box as some other products require you to leave dust cover off or purchase a drop cover to accommodate the longer shift lever. I got this light for my R53 Cooper S and the plug in for the harness did not fit the harness in the car. I needed to modify the circuit board and change the wiring harness in my car so that it would fit.
