This is the 'secret tool' you or your shop will need to do a Gen1 MINI Cooper belt swap. This is a must have to do the job right. Also for those MINI's that are getting near the 50-60K mark, this is the tool you will need to replace your stock belt with as little hassle as possible. We also have the NAPA / Gates / Car Quest (all the same belt). Please note this tool is ONLY for the Cooper model. The Cooper S tool is different. We also have the Cooper S tensioner tool in our Tool section.

The Cooper Belt Tensioner Tool is one of the many MINI Cooper Parts and Accessories that we carry and will fit the following MINI Cooper Models and Years:

Gen1 MINI:

R50 MINI Cooper Hatchback: 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006

R52 MINI Cooper Convertible: 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008

R-Fifty WHAT?? Confused about what model MINI you have? We’re here to help. Check this out for more information.

Customers' comments

I am a Canadian customer and at first I was a little skeptical ordering but after first emailing Aaron, now I just keep coming back! Amazing customer service and shipping is fair for custom/import charges. My #1 shop for anything I'll ever need for the Mini!!!
Ralph Santos seriously this is what my car needed(2009 JCW Coupe), my old blow off valve was starting to go bad... so i picked up this guy, this paired with a CAI will make sure everyone knows your running a turbo.
Brennen Brittain I had a bit of disappointment today when my new hitch arrived - it was not the correct model for my car.
In retrospect, I looked back at the ordering page and found that it was my mistake but I could see why. I searched for a hitch for a Mini-S R53 and it took me to a 1001 which is for a non-S R50. The model numbers for the hitches and the cars they match up with were at the very bottom of the page, which I didn't see when ordering. It would have been very helpful if the drop-down menu had not just the hitch model number (1003) but the car model as well (R50, R53...) to help avoid this confusion.
It cost me return shipping and another week or more of wait. Not fun.
