Cooper S Belt Tensioner Tool

This is the second 'secret tool' you or your shop will need to do a Generation 1 MINI Cooper S pulley swap. This is a must have to do the job right. Be sure to get the Supercharger Pulley Removal Tool while you're at it. Trust us, don't even consider doing a pulley swap without these critical tools. When you install a smaller diameter pulley you can reuse the stock belt by simply letting the tensioner do its job.

Also for those MINI's that are getting near the 50-60K mark, this is the tool you will need to replace your stock belt with as little hassle as possible. We also have the NAPA / Gates / Car Quest (all the same belt) MINI Cooper Supercharge Serpentine Belts available as well.

The first time I used this tool BOTH pins broke off. Poor vendor or something.

yes, we had a batch of 25 that had poor welding by the manufacturer and nearly all of them have been replaced. The revised units that are now shipping have been laser cut to allow the pins to protrude through the metal shaft and are welded from the back for a super bond. No issues have been detected with this new method.
