The eagle eye MINI owner may notice that on the 04-08 Convertible there are support beams that connect to the strut tower to the front section of the main body at an angle. These are to help distribute some of the stress of daily driving and while they are designed for the Convertible, the 2003 and newer hatchbacks SHOULD have the mounting holes pre drilled to these can be retrofitted.
