There is no way around it. If your power steering pump is bad there is no alternative on the market that we know of. You have to pay the super high price that MINI USA charges for this Power Steering Pump for your MINI Cooper. Even these are remanufactured so I would hate to know what they charge for 'new' one. In my estimation 1/4th of the MINI's on the road have either had a power steering fan or a power steering pump replaced. Hopefully under warranty!
