If you're planning on replacing your own brake pads or rotors (or both) you may find that the front calipers are big hassle to get compressed. Over time as the pads and rotors wear down which allows the the piston to slowly move inward to help keep the pedal feel the same even when the pads are getting thinner. In order to get the piston back into position it needs to be compressed A Without this tool or one like it, it's quite difficult.

This can work on the rear caliper BUT is does not have the pins on the face of the tool that are required to engage with the face of the piston so it can be twisted and compressed back into to position. This tool is better suited for use on the front only. We have another kit that has a good selection of various discs that allow the piston to be twisted and compressed in the same motion.
