Mintex Brake Pads greatly reduce unsightly brake dust while helping to increase the rotor life. Mintex's unique pad formulations provide high levels of friction that will improve your car's stopping power all in a non-asbestos environmental friendly pad. If your stock pads are done and you're in need of some new ones, don't waste your money on OE pads. These pads offer reduced noise and dust over OEM pads and are about half the cost of some of the other pads on the market. While these are designed for the street, they can handle an occasional autocross, but if you find yourself doing more 1-2 autocross events a year, you should consider other higher performance pads. Please note rear right wear sensor on 03/03 and newer builds must be tied off before use. Front right wear sensor is still usable on all Gen 1 models.

Fits these MINI models:

02-06 Hatchback*
04-08 Convertible*

*will NOT fit John Cooper Works front brake kit. Rears will fit though.

Most aftermarket REAR pads do NOT have a location for the rear sensor including Hawk, Mintex, sp Performance, ATE and many others. Because the rear sensor was not added until 2004 after most companies had made their molds they simply did not update them and have yet to do so. Because the front pads nearly always wear out first, this tends to not be a problem because the front sensor will trip first. Occasional inspection of the rear pads will help reduce the risk of running them into the metal. If you have a 2004 or newer MINI please tie back the existing sensor with a zip tie when re assembling your brakes.

I bought these a few months ago and while I do enjoy the low dusting and better grip I have found that in order to really enjoy these pads you need upgraded rotors too. I have been through 3 sets of OE rotors with these because they keep warping due to heat. I plan on buying a set of TSW Carbons to replace my OE's soon so I can take full advantage of these. Also, they need more pressure to grip because they need to warm up so I recommend getting SS lines just in case! :)
