Awesome product.
Not to hard to install as there are a couple of YouTube videos on it.
So much tidier than stock leather boot.

Advantages: Appearance is top notch.
Ease of installation.

Disadvantages: No instructions included.

I never liked the leather boot and it was always dirty and a pain to clean. I bought one of these and had it painted and it loogs great and is very easy to keep clean. It also provides a place to set stuff.

Details

This is yet another very unique item from Cravenspeed. The shift gate plate is a shift boot replacement for all Manual transmission MINI's. It actually replaces the plastic trim ring around the base of the shift boot (and the shift boot itself) as well and lends a technical, race-spec look to the interior. Simple open area in the center allows the stock shift or just about any aftermarket short shift kit to work without interference. Installs in minutes. Black anodized finish clear anodized aluminum. Requires removal of the stock center console to install which takes about 30-40 minutes max.

I got this light for my R53 Cooper S and the plug in for the harness did not fit the harness in the car. I needed to modify the circuit board and change the wiring harness in my car so that it would fit.
