Super easy to install. Reach up behind the driver's side dash and feel around for the back of the radio. It's the square open socket on the far driver's side. Orient the latch up and plug it in. That's it. Mount the plug wherever. Turn on the radio mode aux. Worked great for my 05 Gen 1 convertible w/ h/k radio boost.

IMPORTANT** This does not work with any 02 MINI's that have the factory radio installed, sorry! ALSO, does NOT work on any year Gen 1 MINI with the stock Cassette deck OR the 6 CD changer installed (if you unplug the CD changer it will work though)!!

It WILL work on the Harman Kardon stereo!!!

If you've got an MP3 player (who doesn't these days?) and want to pump the tunes through your MINI stereo system then this is what you need. Simple, clean installation using all factory MINI parts guarantees a perfect fit. Harness plugs directly into the back of the MINI radio while a 'dongle' can mounted just about anywhere within about 40 inches. The simple input jack is much like a standard headphone jack, so just run the correct cord (available from any Radio Shack, etc.) out of the MP3 player, Ipod or any other portable systems headphone jack and into the MINI Auxiliary port and you're set. Compatible with most MINI factory installed radio.

IMPORTANT** This does not work with any 02 MINI's that have the factory radio installed, sorry!

Here's a basic outline of how to install it:
1) Pull Knee Panel (under the steering wheel) down (or remove the euro parcel tray if you have that installed). It pops right out and hinges at bottom.
2) Reach up behind head unit and feel for hole in back of the stereo. Plug the AUX connector in.
3) Fish the wire back behind unit over top of unit towards the glovebox or any other location where it can fit. A good location to mount it is in the lower cubby tray area right under the toggle switch...there is a removable panel that you can mount the input plug in with minimal hassle.
4) Drill holes for AUX input 'dongle' connector as shown in the instructions. The faceplate will cover the holes.
5) Fish under glovebox or other location and tighten.
6) Screw in small screws.

I have just received my sunshades for my Mini Cooper, I am over the moon they fit like a glove which is perfect for protecting us from the Australian sun. Many thanks a great purchase will definitely be buying more goodies for my car.

Excellent fit. I bought the matte black to try and match the rest of the trim and it looks factory installed.

Removing the OE chrome grill "nuts" was a bit of a pain, so I elected to just snap the plastic threads off rather than attempt to remove them. I wouldn't plan on keeping the OE grill as the plastic threads and stamped nuts are practically destroyed no matter how gentle you are.

The upper grill snaps in and use the same fasteners as the OE. The new stamped nuts can be a bit annoying, just seat the nut on the ball of your thumb and turn. Once the nut cuts into the plastic use a nut-driver to snug up--don't over tighten.

The lower grill just snaps in. I cleaned and plasti coted the bumper black, as you can see the bumper color behind the new grill--my car is red so it really stood out.

This grill makes the car look so much better and more up to date. I really like it.

Outmotoring.com is a great place for my Mini.
