Very satisfied with my purchase and installation was straightforward. Took it out for a test ride and 2 noticable differences;) 1) the sound 2) signficant power output in 3rd gear merging into highway traffic. I'm happy and recommend this upgrade for anyone looking for a little more pep!

Details

The K&N 69-2004TTK Typhoon air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system designed to fit some Mini Cooper S models. The restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing are replaced by the K&N Typhoon air intake which is designed to dramatically reduce air flow restriction as it smoothes and straightens air flow. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air intake. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range.

The 69-2004TTK air intake comes with a black rubber topped K&N high-flow air filter and a windowed heat shield that installs into the previous air box space. Air is directed through the intake tube into the engine’s turbo inlet for a guaranteed power gain. The intake tube has an attractive textured black powder-coat finish that's made to last and it accommodates the factory mass air sensor and crank case vent hose.

The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points

The tools needed are a screwdriver, ratchet set and several wrenches. Some Typhoon air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards while others are CARB exempt and 50 state legal. Check the K&N catalog or website for vehicle applications and specific CARB status for each vehicle and air intake.

This intake will NOT fit on the JCW model N14 engine!!

This is a review of the M12 stud conversion kit for the R53 MINI Cooper S. This is the second stud kit that I have installed. The first set was of much lessor quality and was totally worn out within six years of auto-x, track days and winter tire change-over.

These new studs appear to be far superior and slightly longer. I also like the unthreaded portion that allows lining up the nut to help prevent cross threading.

I do have one question; Do you recommend any using any lubrication on the threads of the studs?
