I would not recommend the Alta DV for several reasons. First many people are looking to upgrade or replace their faulty DV. This unit uses 1 part from the original stock part the yellow O ring that is prone to failure. You will likely have to pay extra and buy a new stock unit because they don't sell that yellow O ring separately. Second, you have to buy a boost tap that easily costs around $70. Overall, this affordable DV unit that supposedly improves performance will cost an extra $140 bringing the grand total to around $340.

Advantages: Absolutely nothing. Dont waste your money and instead get the Forge unit.

Disadvantages: Expect the cost to increase exponentially because it is an incomplete kit. The price is not the actual cost. It is closer to $340 with all the supporting parts. It uses old factory parts that are know to fail. Beware this is not a good option.

Quick Reaction: The stock CRV is actuated electronically by the ECU, which may sound quick, but is actually a much more delayed process than one might expect. There are delays in the ECU while determining when to open the valve. This effects how quickly it blows off, which can lead to compressor surges, which leads to turbo damage or even failure. The ALTA CRV uses the tried and true method of using intake manifold vacuum and pressure along with turbo pressure to open the valve. This means the moment you start to lift your foot off the gas, the ALTA CRV will start to release boost pressure keeping your turbo safe!

Holds Any Boost Level: Cars with an ECU tune that increases boost levels will enjoy this part as you will never have to worry about it leaking under boost. The BOV is designed in such a way that the boost pressure pushing it closed is greater than the pressure trying to open the valve under boost. This means that 10psi, 20psi or 30psi of boost is no problem for it to handle!

Long Lasting: Less is more! The ALTA CRV consists of four very simple, purpose-built parts. The diaphragm and spring are the same items used on the high tech Borg Warner EFR turbochargers, which means they are meant to easily handle extreme conditions and not fail. This is one of those parts you install and never have to worry about again.

Gets rid of Check Engine Lights: There are many Check Engine Lights/ Diagnostic Trouble Codes that start to appear as your stock CRV ages. The P28AA (Compressor Bypass Error), P2c91 (Possible Seized Compressor Bypass), and P2c90 (Compressor Bypass Seized/Closed) are all very common to see on cars that have more than 50,000 miles on them. These codes all appear because of the many faults with the OEM part. Getting rid of your stock CRV can do many good things for your car, such as eliminating turbo-damaging compressor surges, eliminating DTCs/CELs for faulty or sticky CRVs, and improving both drivability and power!

Thick Diaphragm: A common problem with the stock CRV diaphragm is ripping in higher boost levels and normal wear and tear. The stock part is made of silicone and rubber with no reinforcement to it. So when it starts to fail, it fails quickly. The ALTA CRV has a high quality rubber diaphragm with reinforcement to keep it lasting for the life of your car.

Fits these MINI models:

Based on customer feedback we have found that this part requires a boost tap sensor in order to be installed:

3 orders and I can say that Out Motoring has a customer for life. Shipping has been exceedingly quick, prices are more than fair (beating competition by at least $1), and the reward points are a nice touch to take a little money off the next order. I'll definitely be coming back for more once the weather warms back up.

Without a doubt, Out Motoring is the best aftermarket retailer I've worked with. I came in to buy some small parts. I mentioned that I needed a few of the nutcerts for my Mini. One part that I needed had to be shipped to me. When it arrived they had included the nutcerts.

This Christmas they worked with my father to get my new DDM air intake to me by Christmas, despite it being back ordered most places.

Today I ordered a few more parts I needed before taking my Mini into the shop. They were shipped out within 6 hours of placing the order.
Out Motoring is my go to shop.

I am so grateful to these folks! This non-mechanic was able to fix a problem that would have cost a couple of k's to fix at a dealership or mechanic. Aaron and Anthony were able to communicate with me to troubleshoot the issues and parts with me based off of my troubleshooting and error codes I received from my Schwaben (which Aaron referred me to a few years ago). They got the parts to me in a speed I was able to fix my problems before a scheduled shop visit that is always 2-3 weeks out. Now all I need is an oil and break fluid change I don't want to do and a slow leaking valve gasket I need to decide if I want to attempt. I found helpful videos that I'm almost thinking yes. Thanks guys!
Anna M.
