If your MINI Cooper stock rotors have worn out or over time you've gotten grooves in them, you'll need to replace them. Usually rotors last about 65-75K miles (2 brake pad swaps) under normal driving conditions, however a set of rotors and pads can easily be trashed in a weekend of very aggressive racing on the track. You'll need to monitor the status of YOUR brake rotors as a part of maintaining your MINI, however if you have about 75-80K on the original set of rotors they're likely nearly done. On the other side of this is that some shops push replacing PERFECTLY good rotors (to make more money per transaction) and will use scare tactics to say you MUST replace your rotors when in fact you may have only used 1/2 of the rotors life (measured in thickness). Be sure to get the actual spec off the rotor and have them measure them IN FRONT of you.
While there's a lot to be said about upgrading to high performance rotors, there are plenty of reasons to just stick with the stock rotors. We offer the REAL MINI rotors sold as a set of rears (see drop down menu and read carefully as Cooper and Cooper S rotors are different in most cases). Replace both front and rear if both sets need to be replaced- if not you can opt to just replace the set that is worn too close to the manufacturers minimum thickness that is stamped into the rotor.
