Details

MINI is well known for doing things a bit differently and in this case they've done something that is quite unique. This replacement trim ring has tick marks and graphics around the perimeter that correlate to the RPM of the engine. Is that cool or what? To install simply pull out the the small black 'pin' (or 2 pins on some models) on the bottom of the ring and pull the ring outward. The new one slips into place and you're done in about 3 minutes.

Please note there are 2 part numbers for this part (select from the drop down menu):
65509338327 is for the cars with the 6.5" (diagonal dimension) screen (MINI "Connect" screen/Media Package, etc). This screen has a 3/4" flat plastic trim/frame on the left and right that butt up against the trim ring.

65509338328 is for the 8" (diagonal dimension) screen (Navigation, Visual Boost/XL, etc). This screen goes 'edge to edge' and butts up against the inner lip of the trim ring. The 8" screen is shown here.

This particular product is the 8" version part number 65509338328.

These are the perfect addition to my JCW. I have a red over black JCW with the Xenon head lamps & black housings. These are the perfect way to tone down the brash bright red of the tail/brake lamp housings to match the front lamps. Not only do you eliminate the chrome but the housing itself is black thus darkening the appearance of the entire assembly. I would say these should be flying off the shelf but i don't want everyone to have a MINI that looks as good as mine.
