Chrome Grill Kit: Gen1 'S'

One of the differences between the gen1 Cooper and the Cooper S is that the Cooper has a chrome grill while the Cooper S has a body painted grill. This kit includes everything you need to replace your stock Gen1 MINI S grill with a chrome version. Looks stunning and adds a bit of class to your car without being too flashy. Manufactured by MINI for a perfect fit. This is a complete replacement grill NOT a sticker like some other companies sell. Includes upper and lower grill. Fascia around existing grill will be reused with these insert parts.

The upper grill comes out by removing the cheap nuts on the backside of the bonnet and releasing the insert from the fascia. The lower grill requires the fascia to be gently pried off with a putty knife wrapped in tape (to not mar the surface of the bumper). Then pull off the single slat that is taped to the bumper. Once that part is out, simply replace it with the new one and put the fascia back on. You may need to get new (real) metal nuts to put the upper grill back on as the nuts that MINI uses are less sturdy than metal ones. 

** Does not fit the Aero bumper.
** Early Cooper models with the 4-slat grill wanting to upgrade to the 3-slat grill will need an additional backing plate to make this conversion. Please contact us for more info regarding this part.
