Please note that there are 2 different versions of this intake on the drop down menu. Please confirm if you have a N14 or N18 engine and also select the color of tube you would like.

NM Engineering introduces the complete intake system for the turbocharged model MINI Cooper S. Unlike some competitors, NM’s intake features an integrated larger turbo inlet tube. The stainless brackets, hardwares and silicone couplings were all designed, engineered and manufactured to fit and perform.

The 'Open-Air-Box' system gives you the abundance and unrestricted 360° of air source compared to OEM's sealed air box with flat filter and tube fed air source. During R&D, we installed temperature probes around the engine compartment and the gauge showed the inside temperature matched the ambient after vehicle sped past 20 mph. And by logging the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor also showed that open-air-box intake generated higher volume (gr/sec) of air going through the sensor. So when we had to choose between (a) cooler air at all speed with limited air source, vs. (b) cooler air at 20~ mph. with unlimited air source, the choice was pretty obvious.

The blue and black tube kits feature CNC mandrel bent aluminum pipe and finished with durable textured powder coat. The other option is Carbon Fiber tubing which features 100% carbon fiber composite material to be lightweight and for great appearance. Utilizing vacuum bag manufacturing method produces a part that has consistent wall thickness, while avoiding excessive resin build-up.

Image shown is the N18 engine (2011 and newer S models ASIDE from the JCW models that kept the N14 engine into 2011) variant but there is also a variant for the N14 engine (gen2 S models UP to the end of 2010 plus the 2011 JCW models)
