This tool was the hardest thing about my head gasket replacement. It was engineered to a totally too tight of fit. It is so exacting that it is almost impossible to use. Loosen up Dudes. It is just a tool for removal or assy of the chain sprocket. NOT a working part.

Excellent fit. I bought the matte black to try and match the rest of the trim and it looks factory installed.

Removing the OE chrome grill "nuts" was a bit of a pain, so I elected to just snap the plastic threads off rather than attempt to remove them. I wouldn't plan on keeping the OE grill as the plastic threads and stamped nuts are practically destroyed no matter how gentle you are.

The upper grill snaps in and use the same fasteners as the OE. The new stamped nuts can be a bit annoying, just seat the nut on the ball of your thumb and turn. Once the nut cuts into the plastic use a nut-driver to snug up--don't over tighten.

The lower grill just snaps in. I cleaned and plasti coted the bumper black, as you can see the bumper color behind the new grill--my car is red so it really stood out.

This grill makes the car look so much better and more up to date. I really like it.

I purchased an RSIC6 rear GP style spoiler for my MINI R56 S. During installation, it became clear there was an issue with the fitment. Synopsis: Make your MINI fierce!

The John Cooper Works Grill is a factory replacement, injection-molded grill available to fit Gen 2 MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S models (also available with Driving light brackets- see drop down menu). The main difference between the factory-installed grill and this style is that the openings in this grill are much larger and are a more defined 'stretched hexagon' pattern which looks pretty aggressive. Easy swap takes around 5 minutes. You can either reuse your existing chrome grill trim or pick up a matching Black JCW Grill Trim kit to make an all black grill setup.

To install:
Open hood and pull out the 4 plastic heads from the 4 round plastic inserts along the top edge of the existing grill flange. Pull directly OUTWARD on the lower grill trim and squeeze the 4 V-shaped tabs to release the grill from the bumper. Bam! You're done (aside from putting the new one on!!).

** We also have this grill available WITH brackets for OEM lights (see drop down menu). The grill in this kit has the slots for the brackets as well. While the brackets are custom designed to work with OEM lights, we have seen them modified to work with PIAA lights with minor tweaking (filing down of about 1/16" of material on the bracket hinge). They will also work with other brands like Hella if the metal bracket is modified to allow the larger bolt hole to protrude through the bracket.
