Details

Replacement key fob remote case / housing and dummy key. This is ONLY the outer housing for the remote key fob and does not have any electronic internal components. In order to use this you must transfer your internal components over and also have the dummy key cut by a local locksmith/key cutter by referencing your old key.

This will NOT work as is and must have the internal components from your old key transferred over. If they did not work in your old key they will likely not work in this new housing unless only the buttons were not working. You will find a few great youtube videos on this process but we are not able to offer tech support on this process.

Critical: There are 2 types of key fobs for the gen2 MINI. One type has a removable battery door and the other has a sealed battery door. They are not interchangeable based on our experience so please confirm you are buying the type that matches your existing key. We offer both as separate products on our site.

Also note that the MINI logo badge is not pre installed and will be in the packaging.

Purchased many things from you and have had nothing but great service. My only complaint is the mini countryman carbon fiber covers I received. They provided a glue with it that youre supposed to apply to the back, I did and now my carbon fiber covers are ruined as is the finish on my hood, I dont know what type of glue this is but it doesnt seem to make the covers stick only leak everywhere, so thats 150 out of my pocket to have this stuff buffed off my car.

After my daughter ran over a piece of "plastic" on the interstate in her 2006 R53 puncturing the fuel tank, I placed an order with Aaron for replacement. Due to the pandemic, inflation and the overall state of the world, both the price of the item from Mini and the shipping costs had increased significantly. Aaron was proactive and made me aware of the changes in price and the potential shipping delays and was willing to work with me on both.
